House League

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Ottawa South Basketball Association (OSBA) runs a thriving house league program for more than 400 players each year. Once the season begins, teams have one practice and one game per week, competing in the Eastern Ontario Basketball Association (EOBA) house league. Games may be scheduled in local gyms or other locations across the city. The EOBA also hosts mid-season and year-end tournaments for all house league teams.

SORTOUTS

Sortouts will be scheduled once the competitive teams have been formed. This typically occurs over two weekends between mid September through mid October. Our goal is to balance teams as closely as possible to ensure competitive equity. House league fees must be paid in full to participate in sortouts. To maintain balanced teams, OSBA cannot accommodate friend requests. If this is a major concern, please contact our Director of House League.

SCHEDULE

Regular practices will begin in mid-late October and games normally begin in early November. Practice times and locations will be confirmed once teams are finalized.

AGE GROUPS

OSBA offers house league programming for the following divisions:

  • Boys: U12, U14, U16, and U19

  • Girls: U12, U14, U16, and U19

COACHING

Our ability to run teams depends entirely on coach availability. We need parent volunteers; without them, we cannot form teams. OSBA provides support for new coaches and offers a modest honorarium to show our appreciation (after completion of the season).
