About OSBA

The Ottawa South Basketball Association ("OSBA") (formerly Osgoode-Rideau Basketball Association (ORBA)) has been in existence since 1994. OSBA, best known as Bedrock, was founded by Doug Stuewe. In the beginning, Bedrock was a girls-only organization serving twelve young players. Today, OSBA has grown to serve over 300 young male and female athletes.

Our Small Ball program is specifically designed for players age 5-7. Our house league program serves players aged 8-19 years. House league teams play games against teams from other area clubs as part of the West-End Basketball League (WEBL).  The OSBA competitive program has both boys' and girls' teams at the Novice (U10), Atom (U12), Bantam (U14), Midget (U16) and Junior (U19) levels.

In addition, OSBA is proud of its team of quality volunteer coaches and parents who enthusiastically serve our club athletes.

OSBA operates on the fundamental pillars of good sportsmanship, team spirit, and respect. OSBA is a member of the West End Basketball League (WEBL), the Eastern Ontario Basketball Association (EOBA), amd the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA).

OSBA requires that all parents, coaches, and players model behaviour in accordance with OBA principles. All coaches are required to submit a valid Police Records Check (PRC) in order to work with members of the vulnerable sector (youth).
